The day I met Adam Harry in 2019, he told me: “the only place I feel free is the sky”. As a trans man myself, I knew how much it could take to feel free simply to be. His words stayed with me.
Adam has dreamed of flying since childhood. Despite family rejection, discrimination and delays, he has kept working toward that dream, moving to Australia to continue his training. For seven years, I’ve been making CHIRAKU, a documentary about his journey. Along the way, we became family. Now, through the film’s impact campaign, I’m inviting others to join me in helping him complete his training and education.

Adam’s Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training at Flight Training Perth restarts in mid-November 2026. He has 100 flight hours left.
Completing it before February would allow him to enter his final Bachelor of Aviation semester at Edith Cowan University in February 2027.

Over seven years of making CHIRAKU, Adam became a brother to me. Our WhatsApp chats are full of questionable advice, laughter, and encouragement through setbacks. As two South Indian trans men, we found an understanding we’d both missed growing up. We became people who could count on each other. Helping him finish his training is one way I can show up for him—and I’m inviting you to join me.

Contributions are received for CHIRAKU by our fiscal sponsor, The Film Collaborative. Support for Adam then passes through my company, Moving Dreams Studios LLC, and is paid to him as a participant fee to help meet his education and flight training expenses.

Why does Adam need this support?
Adam was disowned by his biological family. He has continued his education with scholarships and support from his chosen family and trusted networks. That support has brought him this far, but a $30,000 gap remains for this final stretch.
Why Impact Champions rather than another crowdfunding campaign?
Our earlier GoFundMe helped Adam continue his studies, largely through people in our trusted networks. But public visibility has also brought him scrutiny and personal attacks. He wants room to finish his training without becoming the focus of another public campaign.
We’re building this small circle through personal conversations and trusted introductions, respecting that choice. It lets us focus on the support he needs while he focuses on training.
Where did the NGPA scholarships, Kerala Government scholarship and earlier GoFundMe money go?
The $15,000 USD in NGPA scholarships and a portion of the $24,000 USD Kerala Government scholarship paid for the 150 hours of Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) training Adam has already completed.
The earlier GoFundMe raised $14,000 USD, which paid for two units of his Bachelor of Aviation during the February–May 2026 semester at Edith Cowan University.
How will my contribution reach Adam?
The Film Collaborative receives contributions for CHIRAKU. Support for Adam is paid through my company, Moving Dreams Studios LLC, as a participant fee to help meet his education and training expenses.
Can I give through a company match or receive a tax receipt?
The Film Collaborative accepts employer matching gifts and provides donor tax receipts. Donations are deductible to the extent permitted by law. I can help coordinate the details for your contribution or your employer’s matching process.
Will Impact Champions be recognized in the film?
Impact Champions can choose to receive an on-screen Impact Partner credit in CHIRAKU. Public recognition is entirely optional; you’re equally welcome to remain unnamed.
You can also dedicate your gift in memory of someone or in honour of a place meaningful to you. Let me know your preferred dedication wording and whether you would like it shared publicly.
